Simple concept, simple site. If you want a random haiku, get it here.
For all you eager API developers, get a random poem as XML. All my random poetry is free.
Documentation coming soon.
You'll notice that the blog service lets you choose a lexicon. So does the facebook app. Custom Lexica is a new feature which lets you request a haiku using a custom lexicon.
Right now you're stuck with the few lexica that I created during beta testing... SEO, scuba, golf, and so on. The next step is to open up a lexicon builder which lets you create your own. Planned for release some time late summer 2007. Stay tuned.
Fans of my "pagoda of random haiku", the original randomhaiku.com interface, will notice that the pagoda has been removed... it was dismantled and sent to a museum for obsolete Actionscript. The beautiful pagoda (circa 1998) generated a random poem then read it to you in a Stephen Hawking-esque synthesized voice, accompanied by kata and flute. After many reports that the pagoda didn't work in several new browsers, I decided to remove it and start working on a new version. Stay tuned.
